See below for how to install the first Cryptographic Security Platform Database Appliance node on VMware vSphere.
In this section, OVF (Open Virtualization Format) and OVA (Open Virtual Appliance) are synonymous.
To install the first Cryptographic Security Platform Database Appliance node on VMware vSphere
- Download the PKI DB Appliance image as explained in Downloading the installation files.
Log in to your vSphere Client.
- Navigate to Hosts and Clusters.
Select Actions > Deploy OVF Template.
- Complete the Deploy OVF Template wizard steps.
- Power on the Cryptographic Security Platform Database Appliance virtual machine.
1 Select an OVF template
Click Local File and upload the file obtained in Downloading the installation files.
2 Select a name and folder
Select a folder and a name for the machine on VMware vSphere.
Click Customize this virtual machine's hardware to configure advanced machine options later.
3 Select a computer resource
Select the destination resource for the new machine.
Click Automatically power on deployed VM to automatically start the machine on installation completion.
4 Review details
Review the current configuration and click Back to change any setting.
5 License agreements
Read the license agreement and click I accept all license agreements.
6 Configuration
Select your preferred deployment configuration.
7 Select storage
Select your preferred storage for the resources of the new machine.
8 Select networks
Select a network for the new machine.
PKI DB Appliance only supports Static-Manual IP allocation.
9 Customize template
Configure the network properties according to the following considerations.
Properties | Considerations |

Host IP address | If your internal IP address differs from your external IP address due to your firewall configuration, use the internal IP address. |
If you want to specify multiple DNS servers, enter their IP addresses as a comma-separated or space-separated list. | |
You cannot change the node IP address after it has been deployed. | |
Hostname | Do not use spaces or special characters. Only use alphanumeric characters or hyphens (-). |
Any uppercase letters in the hostname will be translated to lowercase after the node has been deployed. | |

10 Customize hardware
Select at least the following machine settings for your installation type.

11 Ready to complete
Review the configuration and click Finish.
The machine will automatically start if Automatically power on deployed VM was selected on step 3 Select a computer resource.
